Attraction flows, it cannot be forced.
In the end, You attract to you, who you are: Like attracts Like!
Falling in love is but the finding of yourself in another,
and the Delight in that Discovery!
Attraction flows naturally:
No pushing or pulling, no begging or coaxing, no tricky manipulations,
Just comfortable compatibility, straight forward and real, . . . mutually felt.
- Matt Moody .

neither done nor known at all. Worse, it often misleads.

When an archer is shooting for nothing . . . he has all his skill.
If he shoots for a brass buckle . . . he is already nervous.
If he shoots for a prize of gold . . . he goes blind;
or sees two targets . . . he is out of his mind!
His skill has not changed. But the prize . . . divides him.
He cares. He thinks more of winning than of shooting . . .
and the need to win drains him of power.

Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living
and your belief will help create the fact.
- William James .

* * * * *

** Dr Matt's Rebuttal: These ideas by Hill and James have been re-packaged recently through the wildly popular movement called The Secret. The theory is that as you focus emotion-filled thoughts upon what you want, then you will "create" what you want. But there is a huge catch to this erroneous notion: If what you personally want and "believe" is not compatible with God's laws, then trying to "create" a desired "fact" cannot happen.

In other words, if you are living contrary to Life's inherent harmony, you will swim against the currents of nature. Thus, your "belief" in creating a bright future must not be built upon the sandy foundation of "fake-it-till-you-make-it" positive mental attitude, for as long as you're "faking it," . . . the hoped-for "fact" will never happen. Instead, one must be real, authentic, and principle-centered, . . . only then will belief "help create the fact."

They can conquer who believe they can.
- Virgil .

* * * * *

** Dr Matt's Rebuttal: This slogan has been the battle cry of many defeated athletic teams that were way overmatched. "Belief" can indeed be a Force to enable "David to slay Goliath," but in those kind of situations, "belief" is applied to a Higher Purpose than merely conquering one's foe. No, when "belief" is expressed as just positive mental attitude towards accomplishing a secular purpose, . . . then prepare to be crushed by opponents that are bigger, faster, and stronger.
